In the darkness of night
I wonder
what it would feel like
to hold you in my arms
as the sun rises
in the morning
No words are needed
our eyes may never meet
but all can be said
with a touch of the hand
a kiss on the lips
It is almost as if we are atoms
positively charged
and drawn to each other
with a bond too strong to embrace
yet, too intense to ignore
In the darkness of night
I wonder
what it would feel like
to meet love
face to face.

I wonder too
There is nearly nothing more painful or fightfully desperate than to feel the cold space between desire and reality. Too many of us live there, too many of us disappear there.
Hi Glenn,
Thanks for the thought provoking comment. I have lived in that space; at least it made for some great poetry. 🙂
there you go Nicole….look at the bright side
Thanks! There is always a bright side to love! 🙂
Nice – I came away wondering “what if” — those two got together actually? Maybe? Possibly? Hoping?
Hi Brian,
Thanks for your comment! Yes, this poem was written with a “what if” attitude – there is definitely a theme of longing and hoping in my work. 🙂
